How a Chiropractic Adjustment Actually Works
When a spinal joint locks up, it sets off a chain reaction: the surrounding muscles tighten to protect it, the nerves running through it get irritated, which is why the pain rarely stays in one place and the joints above and below start overcompensating until they break down too. Dr. Loucil’s job is to find that locked joint and unlock it with a quick, controlled motion that takes it just past its restricted range. You may hear a pop, which is simply gas releasing from inside the joint capsule, the same thing that happens when you crack your knuckles.

Before the Adjustment
Dr. Loucil reviews your medical history, symptoms, posture, and range of motion in a full physical exam. On-site digital X-rays may be taken the same visit when clinically appropriate. No referral or separate imaging facility is needed. Spanish-speaking patients are fully accommodated.

During the Adjustment
You lie on a segmented chiropractic table while Dr. Loucil applies a targeted adjustment. Manual or Activator technique is selected based on your needs. Most sessions run 15 to 30 minutes.

After the Adjustment
Most patients leave feeling looser with reduced pain. Mild soreness in the first 24 hours is normal. You leave with simple aftercare instructions and a clear treatment plan.

How Many Adjustments Will You Need?
The honest answer depends on how long you have had the problem, how severe it is, and how consistently you follow the plan. Acute pain that started within the last six weeks typically resolves in 6 to 12 visits over 4 to 8 weeks. Chronic pain that has been present for three months or longer usually takes 12 to 24 visits, often combined with spinal decompression, laser therapy, or physical therapy. Post-accident patients under Florida PIP are treated according to clinical need within the authorized plan. Patients who want to maintain their results after the acute problem is resolved typically come in once or twice a month.
Every 4 to 6 visits, Dr. Loucil reassesses your progress. If you are not improving, the plan changes or you get a referral to someone who can help. We do not keep treating patients who are not getting better that is not how this clinic earned the trust of 2,000+ patients.
